Pokémon is heading to real life in a brand new Netflix TV series. While many Pokémon stories have been animated, we only have one major glimpse into live-action: Detective Pikachu. Widely recognized as one of the best video game movies, does that mean this will be good too?
Netflix has been taking the world's love for this franchise seriously. They've seen success with Indigo League and Pokémon Journeys, but they're ready to take a new step into a completely different way of storytelling...
The Pokemon Company has announced that the 25th season of the Pokémon anime series will debut on the English Teletoon channel in late May. Titled Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, the new episodes will begin airing weekly starting Saturday, May 28 at 12:00PM with, “The Spectral Express!” Additional titles include, “The Winding Path to Greatness!,” “It’s all in the Name!” and “Suffering the Flings and Arrows!”.
As always, Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series was produced by OLM. The episodes encompass those released in Japan under the Pocket Monsters name from last December. The prior season, Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series, debuted June 12, 2021 on Teletoon. The season finale aired on March 26th.The stakes are higher than ever for Ash, Goh and Chloe as they advance toward their goals! As the Pokémon World Coronation Series tournament heats up, intensive training is in store for Ash, Pikachu and their Pokémon friends. Meanwhile, Goh embarks on a series of challenging trial missions to become a member of Project Mew. And as Chloe and Eevee learn about the different evolutionary paths that Eevee can take, will they be able to come to a decision about its future? Get ready for nonstop action, familiar faces from journeys past and more Pokémon discoveries to be made!
Ash Ketchum is leaving the Pokémon anime. After achieving World Champion in a recent Pokémon Journeys episode, The Pokémon Company has announced a new epilogue series following Ash's final adventures in becoming a Pokémon Master! We're at the end of an era.
Ash Ketchum has been the main protagonist of the Pokémon series for 25 years, but it's time to say goodbye. The upcoming epilogue series "Pokémon: Aim To Be A Pokémon Master" brings back familiar faces like Brock and Misty, while giving fans one final sendoff for the character who's been here since the beginning. What comes next for Ash Ketchum and Pikachu? How will the Pokémon anime adapt Scarlet and Violet in the next series?
Bell Media’s Crave streaming service has announced that it’ll launch various entries in Pokémon franchise in February. Beginning February 18th, the video-on-demand service will offer all subscribers:
- Pokémon: The First Movie (1998)
- Pokémon: I Choose You! (2017)
- Pokémon: Adventures in the Orange Islands (1999)
- Pokémon The Series: XY (2013-2014)
- Pokémon The Series: XY Kalos Quest (2014-2015)
- Pokémon The Series: XYZ (2015-2016)
The press release notes that additional Pokémon content will be added in the future. Crave previously streamed Warner’s Detective Pikachu live-action film between January 2020 and March 2021.
All titles listed had previously aired on Teletoon and/or YTV. Most have also streamed on a variety of platforms, including Netflix.
